Hiccups
What are hiccups? Are you curious? =)
I'm sure you can get more professional tips from the net.
But let me share some information I've learnt during my most recent Biology lesson at Pusat Tuisyen Kasturi.

A normal hiccup occurs when your breathing center (located at the medulla oblongata of the brain) accidentally sends a wrong information to your breathing mechanisms.
Example:
When you inhale, your intercostal muscle contracts, rib cage move outwards and diaphragm downwards. But what if your diaphragm receives a wrong message and moves upwards? Air rushes out your lungs and flows in your lungs at the same time. The opposite direction of the air flow causes that akward sound known as hiccups.

How to get rid of hiccups?
As our chemoreceptors in our blood only detects the concentration of carbon dioxide/CO₂, the objective is to higher the concentration of CO₂ in our blood. When the concentration of CO₂ in your body rises, chemoreceptors detects it, sends information to the breathing centre. The breathing centre will then resend information to your breathing mechanisms. New and correct information controls your breathing process, breathing goes back to normal mode. Hiccup porblems solved! =)

Explaining the tradisional ways taught by our parents or grandparents:
Drink lots of water:
When you drink water, your trachea closes so that the water enters to the oesophagus and wont get you choked. Therefore in the process of drinking, we actually do not breathe. While drinking for a long~ period, you arent breathing for a long period too. Concentration of CO₂ increases in time.

Holding your breath:
Meaning not breathing.. so that the CO₂ concentration rises. To acheive the objective, it takes some time. Hence, you have to hold your breath for long enough.

Best way! x)
Grab a plastic bag and cover your nose and mouth with it. Start breathing with the plastic bag covering your nose and mouth. This way, you will inhale the CO₂ you exhaled out. Then the concentration of CO₂ in your blood rushes up. In a nutshell, this is the fastest way to heal you hiccup.

I thought you would know what it feels like when you just dont want ppl to ask you things that'll bring back the unhappy feeling. I thought you would understand.

Mummy, I'm sorry.

I feel really really stupid. During that period of time, there was only me and my younger sister at home.

It was 8pm, my stomach was still empty. I recall mum's suggestion through the phone this morning. "If you come home and find that you're hungry, you can steam the big pau in the fridge for dinner." I did exactly the same...NO, not EXACTLY. Something was wrong, I left the the thing to steam and decide to have a rest in the living room. You see, I then fell asleep.

Woken up by my sister, I lifted my eyelids ans saw 'Giant Seremban Siu Pau' before my eyes.
I wasnt really conscious actually. Then I realized, something didnt seem right. It was the smell.. that burnt smell. What happened was, the water in the wok totally boiled up, leaving only heat in the wok, and it started fnctioning like an oven. I'm sure you know what a 大包 looks like. My steamed 大包 turned into a 烧包. Seriously, that block of charcoal bun... kept me stunned. But still, that was my dinner.

The outer layer was so badly burnt that only the filling of the pau was edible. Not long after the discovery, my mum came home. She said she could smell the burnt smell outside the house. Haihz. Great~, now my house smells burnt.

I know, I shouldnt have left the kitchen and then fell asleep. But I was really tired as I went out the whole day and had only 2hours+ of sleep this morning. Maybe you might think that I'm looking for excuses. I'll tell you, NO. I perfectly understand it was my fault.

What I'm trying to say is Dont Play Play with Cooking. If nobody noticed the incident, my house would have been burnt down. So please Be Careful at all times.

Arghz... too short. And it's all my fault, I really regret it!
I kept saying to the hairstylist: "Shorter. Shorter."

Before i decided to snip it, i asked many friends for their opinions. So many people ask me not to cut. But honestly, I really beh tahan dy, whenever mummy sees people with that hairstyle (eg: Xandria Ooi),

But I wont deny that I wanted to try again lo. So, I cant blame anyone but myself.
If, somebody will tell me something I really want to hear right now, I'll fly! But of course, it must be sincere.

I went to KL for tuition. Then after my physics lesson, I went SHOPPING!
I passed by this store, then I noticed the big banner that said: 70% Discount
Haha. I bought 2 pairs of shoes. x) lolz.. i found the shopperholic in me.

Happy Mother's Day

Did you do anything special today? =)

As I went down to KL for replacement tuition, I thought I could get something.
So, I walked about 5 flowerists, strolling up and down the street investigating each several times. Finally I picked a small bouquet worth RM15 and headed home by KTM..

Of course when I got home, nobody was in. I decided to present my flowers as a surprise. The beautiful bouquet was set somewhere near the entrance to make sure she'll see it. Later, I left home for church.

Adjacent to this special day, at youth, we made muffins for our mums! Both chocolate and vanilla~ too bad i didnt take pictures of them. The boys enjoyed digging their fingers into the bowl of whipped cream and licked their fingers contentedly. (No eye see liao~) Anyway, we all had a fun time, and our muffins were really nicely baked. So each of us brought home a little gift.
